The Five People You Meet In Heaven
Will I meet you in my heaven?
This book came in time when i was depressed, thinking that I'm nobody, the inability of get excited about much of anything.
Will i regret if my life ends tomorrow. At first, i really think it doesn't matter anymore.
But not after i start reading this book by Mitch Albom. I realised i actually live in a heaven.
A heaven that i take it for granted.
I am having migraine due to over-worrying of future recently. When i look around, my mum is always there for me although she always had the mindset of must-listen-to-me style. But when you do not focus too much on this, you actually see how adorable she is. I am glad i have the power to see it now especially before things get late.
By having a stillness injected by Albom, i was able to picture myself as Eddie in the scenes when he met them.
The sacrifices that i kept thinking about it. The anger that we hold on to ourself. The love that we lost and nurture from and the regret of us being helpless in our life.
Life isn't perfect and we can't wait for a perfect time for a perfect move. Everything is interrelated and even existence do make an impact which we barely know. Much things on earth are out of our control, but we can learn and get solace as we move on.
Sincerely recommended this book to everyone. The main take away is, death is no much fear for me now and i am really curious who will i meet then.
Oh ya, almost forget to mention here. I have learnt something valuable from this Eddie's mother and his wife, both of them treasure Eddie's birthday vr much.
Marguerite, his wife always plan out a simple celebration with the always-there Taffy candy just to make him happy for the day. Only Grit person can keep this practice for years. I use the word Grit as it is not something we will practice in today's busy life. I hope i can also do the similar in grit for the next person who comes.
The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom
All endings are also beginning. We just don't know it at the time
Eddie squeezed his eyes tightly to bring the memory closer.
Eddie has a lovely mum, she will hold his hand and tell him God is proud of him for being a good boy on his birthday and that will make the world feel right-side up again. His mum always make sure the birthday celebration is on!
First Met: All lives intersect
Heaven can be found in the most unlikely corners
It is because human spirit knows, deep down that all lives are intersect. That death doesnt jz take someone, it misses someone else, and in the small distance between being taken and being missed, lives are changed. One wither, another grows. Birth and death are part of a whole.
No life is a waste. The only time we waste is the time we spend thinking we are alone.
Second Person: Sacrifice is part of life
Time is not what you think. Dying, not the end of everything. That is what heaven is, u get to make sense of your yesterdays
You made one, i made one, we all made them. But Eddie were angry over his, and he kept thinking about what he losts.
Sacrifice is a part of life, it is supposed to be. It is not something to regret. It is something you aspire to. Little sacrifices. Big sacrifices.
Sometimes when you sacrifice something precious, you are not really losing it. You are just passing on to someone else.
What you see aint what i see....
The Unwanted-To-Face Third: Anger vs Forgive
Holding anger is a poison. It eats u from inside. We think that hating is a weapon that attacks the person who harmed us. But hatred is a curve blade, and the harm we do, we do it to ourselves.
Forgive, forgive. That is because no one is born with anger. Here, in order to move on, you must understand why you felt what you did, and why you no longer need to feel it. You need to forgive. Your father is not the reason u never leave the pier.
Love takes many forms, and it is never the same for any man and woman.
Love, like rain, can nourish from above, drenching couples with a soaking joy. But sometimes, under the angry heat of life, love dries on the surface and must nourish from below, tending to its roots, keeping itself alive.
He lost the only woman he ever loved. Lost love is still love, it takes a different form, that's all. You cant see their smile or bring them food or tousle their hair or move them around a dance floor. But when those senses weaken, another heightens Memory. Memory becomes your partner. You nurture it. You hold it. You dance with it.
Life has to end but love doesnt. That is how strong lost love can be.
He thinks bout Taffy. He thinks it would take his teeth out now, but he would eat it anyhow, if it meant eating it with her.
Last relief soul met
I was sad because i didnt do anything with my life. I was nothing. I accomplished nothing. I was lost. I felt like I wasnt supposed to be there.
His grip was still entwined with Tala, but he felt his body being washed from his soup, meat from the bone, and with it went all the pain and weariness he ever held inside him, every scar, every wound and every bad memory.
The End
Each affects the other and the other affects the next, and the world is full of stories, but the stories are all one.
This book is really a gift to the soul, so comforting. Enjoy~~~
